The Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX certification is a product label that was introduced in 1992 by Germany’s Hohenstein Research Institute  and the Austrian Textile Research Institute. It is an international standard that aims to ensure textiles are harmless to human health, i.e. that they are produced without harmful chemical substances, using a strictly controlled manufacturing process. What is Tencel?

Tencel, or lyocell, is a fibre produced from wood pulp (from trees such as eucalyptus or bamboo). It was first introduced in the 1980s. Cellulose, a protein that occurs naturally in the bark of the trees, is extracted, then crushed and dissolved in a non-toxic solvent. This spinning technique does not cause any significant chemical changes to the raw material, and it generates minimal water pollution. It therefore has a low environmental impact. (source : lebasiq.com)

What is Repreve denim?
Repreve is a fibre made from recycled water bottles.

This denim fabric is made from a blend of cotton and a fibre produced from recycled water bottles. In addition to using reclaimed materials that would otherwise end up in landfills, this process reduces greenhouse gases and the consumption of new petroleum and water.
